BMW remained tight-lipped about specifics, instead highlighting the 8 Series’ legacy: the second-generation model launched in summer 2018, later expanding to include Coupe, Convertible, Gran Coupe, and high-performance M8 variants. The brand also emphasized its racing pedigree, notably multiple class wins at the Daytona 24 Hours.

The 8 Series’ future remains uncertain. Previous reports indicate the limited edition will be based on the M850i, powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine delivering 523 hp and 750 N·m of torque.

Alongside the limited 8 Series, BMW will debut the M2 CS in North America. Priced from $98,600, it features a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine producing 523 hp and 649 N·m of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It accelerates 0-96 km/h in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 303 km/h.

The M2 CS sheds 44 kg versus the standard automatic M2 through extensive carbon fiber components. It also boasts uniquely tuned suspension with specialized springs/dampers, custom engine mounts, M Compound brakes, and an upgraded M Sport differential.

At the Monterey Motorsports Reunion, BMW will display additional models including race cars, while two Art Cars will debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
